The (MOD) Ministry of Defence has named Plymouth’s award winning New Wave Marine as a Bronze winner – in its Employer Recognition Scheme for 2021.
The scheme recognises British companies that demonstrate their commitment by proactively supporting the armed forces communities and inspiring other local businesses to do the same.
Darren Negus, Operations Manager at New Wave Marine, said: “We are extremely proud to receive this coveted award, and honoured to be recognised in supporting our armed forces veterans and communities in Plymouth and the wider South West region.”

“But especially, the work we are delivering at the Garage Café in Plymouth’s Union Street in supporting our homeless veterans and looking to raise £25K for new renovations at the site including, meeting rooms, toilet and shower facilities, doors, electrics, carpets, painting, decorating,” he said.
To achieve a Bronze award status, New Wave Marine must uphold recruitment policies that are positive to people in and leaving the armed forces, creating opportunities for service personnel, and pledged its support to the Armed Forces Covenant, which ensures fairness and equal opportunity for service and ex-service personnel, reservists and their families.
New Wave Marine is a family firm that works across the whole of Britain with specialist teams in drainage, confined space rescue units, marine cleaning, waste management, and works in the defence sector.
